The Pledge Process

Must be a full-time student with at least two semesters remaining at Purdue following Pledgeship

Have a major that qualifies

A minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA

The following majors at Purdue University are currently accepted by the National Fraternity into membership: majors within the Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr School of Business, majors within the Department of Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Economics (College of Liberal Arts), Human Resource Management, Organizational Leadership, Business Math, Supply Chain Management, Financial Counseling and Planning, Retail Management, Selling and Sales Management, HTM, Apparel Design and Technology, Construction Management, or Exploratory Studies with intent to pursue one of the above-listed majors.

Delta Sigma Pi will add immeasurable benefits to your collegiate experience. The professional skills such as public speaking, working in teams, interviewing, and networking are certainly of ever increasing value, but Delta Sigma Pi provides its members with access to 60 of the most well-rounded and diverse students at Purdue. These members will share their life experiences, both personal and professional, and create ever-lasting friendships within the organization. Delta Sigma Pi simply isn’t a student organization; it is a transformative experience. Joining a well-rounded organization like Delta Sigma Pi will enhance your college experience with opportunities that you often won’t encounter in a classroom environment.

A professional fraternity is co-ed, and is made up of people from a particular subject area, which in our case, is business. Although Delta Sigma Pi has a very strong social aspect, the primary focus of our events is the business world and professional development. Unlike most social fraternities, we do not live in a house.

We have 2-3 callouts and 2-3 Meet the Chapters at the start of each semester. If you are interested in joining Delta Sigma Pi, it is highly encouraged that you attend some of these events to learn more about our fraternity and meet some of our members. The application form is available online and at the events.

Interviews are conducted in a behavioral style. If you do not have any experience with behavioral interviews, the Krannert Career Services office and the Center for Career Opportunities are campus resources that can give you tips and also conduct mock interviews. You should wear business professional to the interview and be prepared to talk about your experiences.

The professional skills you develop and friendships you form in Delta Sigma Pi will benefit you for the rest of your life. Being a Deltasig is something that employers look highly on, and many companies even seek out or give preference to Deltasigs for open positions. The relationships you form will give you a group of great friends for years to come and create networking opportunities that will help you advance your career. With over 226,000 brothers initiated since its founding, you will continually meet new brothers as you move into a full-time job.

Pledgeship is a five-week process in which potential members meet once a week and learn about Delta Sigma Pi as well as form a bond with each other before being initiated as official brothers. In addition, you will attend weekly meetings and take quizzes on our fraternity history. The time commitment is significant but very manageable. Time management is crucial throughout the pledge process.
